Mockly English is three things:

1. Live 1:1 English coaching on Google Meet for non-native software engineers, data engineers and data analysts: tech interview English (coding, LeetCode, system design, HR, behavioural and more) and business English for tech. Coaches are practising data engineers who also teach English. Free 30-minute trial, no card needed. Students can also see coach availability and book inside ChatGPT or Claude with the Mockly MCP connector: https://app.mocklyenglish.com/ai.
2. Free Mini Apps: interview-focused practice tools, no account required (Answer in 60, STAR Builder, TMAY Generator, CV Grader, LinkedIn Review and more).
3. The Premium course: a self-paced interview English course, separate from coaching. It does not include a session.

Quick Answer

**Mentions of AI in job postings are rising across Europe, but unevenly. In Ireland about 1 in 8 job postings now mention AI, the UK is second, and most other countries sit around 3–4%. Ireland leads because it hosts the European headquarters of large US tech companies. The figures cover all job postings, not just AI roles, so AI is becoming a general skill: use AI tools at work, add them to your CV, and be ready to explain how you use them in interviews.**

## What the data shows

Everyone says AI is everywhere. To check whether recruiters actually ask for it, we looked at how often AI is mentioned in job postings across European countries.

| Market | Share of job postings mentioning AI |
| ----------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Ireland | About 1 in 8 (around 12%) |
| UK | Second, with strong growth since 2024 |
| Most other European countries | Around 3–4% |
| Summary | Figures are shares of all job postings, not only AI roles, as of April 2026. |

## Why Ireland is ahead

Three reasons

- Ireland hosts the European headquarters of Google, Meta, Apple, Amazon and other large tech companies
- It is an English-speaking country inside the EU
- It is the natural base for US tech companies expanding into Europe

When these companies start adding AI to their job descriptions, Ireland is the first place it shows up.

## This isn't just about AI jobs

This is the most important point. The numbers come from all job postings, not only AI and machine-learning roles. AI is becoming a general workplace skill, the way spreadsheets and email once were.

Key takeaway

You don't need to be an AI engineer. You do need to show that you use AI tools well and responsibly in your own role.

## What this means for job seekers

Three implications

- Where you apply matters. If you have AI skills, the UK and Ireland currently have the most openings that ask for them.
- AI is becoming a basic expectation. You should be able to use AI tools in your work, explain how, and discuss it in interviews.
- There is still time. The rest of Europe is behind for now, and it will likely catch up over the next 12–18 months.

## What to do now

Start using AI in your daily work

- Use it to write, code, analyse or plan
- Try a few different tools
- Build one or two simple workflows you can describe

Update your CV and interview notes

- Add the AI tools you use to your skills section or bullet points
- Prepare one STAR story about using AI to work faster or better
- Prepare for follow-ups on using AI responsibly: checking output, privacy and when not to use it

## How to talk about AI in an English interview

| Question | A clear answer starts like this |
| ------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| How do you use AI in your work? | "I use \[tool] mainly for \[task]. For example, last month I…" |
| How do you check AI output? | "I treat it as a first draft. I always review…, and I never paste…" |
| Has AI changed how you work? | "Yes, it saves me about \[time] a week on \[task], which I now spend on…" |
