FAQ

Questions

Map one real story to one principle, then deliver it in STAR. Show the principle in your Actions and Result — Ownership, Dive Deep, or Disagree and Commit — not in a definition of the LP.

The English structure is still STAR. Amazon asks LP-labelled versions of the same themes. Practise Ownership and Dive Deep first, and keep “I” ownership clear.

Bar Raisers fail unclear ownership and missing data, not accents. If they cannot tell what you decided, they cannot raise the bar. Practise shorter Actions and a number in the Result. Do not spend the answer defining the principle.

Name a real customer, the pain, and the change you shipped. Avoid slogans. “Support tickets showed checkout failed on older Androids, so I prioritised that fix over a new feature” is Customer Obsession. “I always put the customer first” is not.

State the disagreement once, with a reason, then say what you did after the decision. “I recommended delaying launch because of the error rate. We decided to ship with a flag. I owned the rollback plan.” Commitment after dissent is the signal.

Enough to cover Ownership, Dive Deep, Customer Obsession, Bias for Action, and Disagree and Commit, plus one delivery story. Six strong stories remapped live beat a binder of unused examples. Rehearse them out loud in English.

Yes if you change the emphasis. Same outage can be Ownership (you paged in) or Dive Deep (you found the metric). Say which signal you are proving in the first sentence so the interviewer is not confused.

Own the miss quickly, show the data that changed your mind, and close with what you do differently now. That is Learn and Be Curious plus humility. Do not defend the old decision for three minutes.
