Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Mockly English at app.mocklyenglish.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

Mockly English provides English-coaching tools, AI-powered CV reviews, human CV reviews, and the ability to book live coaching sessions. Features depend on your subscription plan.

3. Accounts

You sign in with Google. You're responsible for keeping your Google account secure. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or applicable law.

4. Subscriptions and billing

  • Subscriptions are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis.
  • Premium subscriptions unlock guides and member benefits; AI-tool credits (e.g. CV reviews) are purchased separately as top-ups. Purchased top-up credits expire 6 months after they are granted unless stated otherwise at purchase.
  • You can cancel at any time from the Subscription page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

5. Coaching sessions

Live 1:1 coaching and mock interview sessions are booked through Mockly using session credits (or a one-time free trial, where offered). One session credit is used when you book a paid session.

Rescheduling

  • You may reschedule a paid session at any time more than 24 hours before the scheduled start time, at no extra credit cost.
  • Rescheduling is not available within 24 hours of the scheduled start time.
  • Reschedule from your Mockly dashboard.

Cancellations

  • Cancel a paid session more than 24 hours before the scheduled start time and your session credit is returned to your account automatically.
  • Cancel within 24 hours of the start time and your session credit is not returned.
  • Cancel from your Mockly dashboard.

Free trial sessions

  • Each account is eligible for one free trial session, subject to availability.
  • If you cancel or no-show your free trial, you cannot book another free trial.
  • We recommend rescheduling (before the 24-hour cutoff) rather than cancelling if you only need a different time.

No-shows

If you do not attend a session and have not cancelled or rescheduled in time, the session is treated as used: paid session credits are not returned, and free trials count as consumed. If your coach does not attend, contact us at contact@mocklyenglish.com and we will arrange a replacement session or credit, as appropriate.

Session credits

  • Unused session credits expire 12 months after purchase.
  • Session credits are non-transferable and tied to your Mockly account.
  • Session credit purchases are separate from Premium subscriptions.

6. Refunds

Subscription fees are generally non-refundable once a billing period has started. If you believe you've been charged in error, contact us within 14 days at contact@mocklyenglish.com.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or contains personal data of others without consent.
  • Abuse, scrape, or attempt to reverse-engineer the service.
  • Use the AI tools to generate harmful, deceptive, or illegal content.
  • Resell or redistribute the service without our written permission.

8. Your content

You retain ownership of CVs and other content you upload. You grant us a limited licence to process that content solely to provide the service to you.

9. Newsletter and marketing communications

During sign-up you may opt in to receive our newsletter ("The Stack") and marketing emails. These may include product updates, interview tips, new feature announcements, and promotional offers.

  • Marketing emails are only sent if you explicitly opt in.
  • Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link. You can also manage your preferences from your account settings at any time.
  • Transactional emails (booking confirmations, review-ready notifications, password resets) are not affected by your marketing preferences and will continue as long as your account is active.

10. Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is". AI feedback and human reviews are suggestions, not guarantees of any outcome (e.g. job offers or interview success).

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
